Weingart Foundation
Jackson is the president and chief executive of the Weingart Foundation, based in downtown. She took on the role last year after previously holding it on an interim basis. She has been with the organization for more than 16 years. Since taking over, the nonprofit released a report about its mission investing alignment, invested in social justice initiatives and has committed hundreds of thousands of dollars in wildfire relief aid and recovery. The Foundation made a big move in 2017, aligning its investment portfolio closely with its mission, also known as impact investing. The Weingart Foundation, which has delivered more than $1.6 billion in grants and loans, was started with a $150 million endowment. Annually, it allocates 5% towards charitable purposes.
